Trauma Informed Therapy in Maryland
trauma is when YOU experience something that feels LIFE-THREATENING for you or someone else, such as assault or an accident. When we experience trauma, our ability to self-actualize is neutralized. That’s because the functions our brains use to keep us safe from life-threatening danger often become overactive. Safety is PRIORITIZED over every other human need. It OVERSHADOWS healthy relationships, success and achievement, strong sense of self, and so much more. This can create challenges within our families and all of our relationships, particularly our relationship with ourselves. If you have experienced trauma, and any of the following as a result, you might benefit from EMDR Therapy.
